Based on a decade of research and his own clinical experience, psychotherapist and educator David Treleaven has found that mindfulness meditation practiced without trauma awareness can exacerbate symptoms of traumatic stress. Survivors of intense trauma can experience retraumatization simply by replaying the same events in their minds, which can be overwhelming. This raises a crucial question for mindfulness trainers, trauma specialists, and trauma survivors worldwide: How can we harness the powerful benefits of mindfulness while minimizing the potential risks to survivors?
Trauma-Sensitive Mindfulness, meticulously translated into Turkish by Prof. Dr. Zümra Atalay, offers answers to this critical question, diligently addressing the merits and demerits of mindfulness meditation and how it should be practiced. Through comprehensive case studies, it demonstrates how mindfulness can aid in trauma healing. The result is a groundbreaking and practical approach that empowers those seeking to practice mindfulness safely and transformatively.

Acceptance sometimes seems like the most logical, sometimes cliché, and sometimes the wisest solution we can employ to feel more at peace. We can also see acceptance as a way to change. This book is written to emphasize that acceptance is not a method used to achieve change, but rather the change itself. In this book, I approach acceptance not as an end, a conclusion, or an unchangeable decision, but as a beginning and an action we must dynamically and actively incorporate into our lives at all times.
"Acceptance" is actually what heals a person, makes life easier, and allows for a calmer, more peaceful, and more at peace. Contrary to popular belief, it's not the end of everything; on the contrary, it's the opening of the curtain, the main entrance—the beginning.
This book was written to help you delve into the concept of acceptance and put it into practice. With the guidance of Prof. Dr. Zümra Atalay, are you ready to embrace acceptance—a concept frequently mentioned in religious teachings and daily life, as well as in our language—into your lives. Are you ready to pass through that door that holds new beginnings and feel its healing effects?
The Art of Making New Possibilities Possible: ACCEPTANCE will transform the dead-end streets in your mind into spacious paths adorned with flowers. This book will be a blessing to your soul…

As a way of life and understanding, "Mindfulness" adds value to our lives. Developing an understanding that touches our pain and wounds has made the concept of "Mindfulness" even more meaningful.
One of the most significant contributions to contemporary psychotherapy is the development and implementation of mindfulness-based therapies. This method, whose effectiveness has been proven by numerous studies worldwide, is also becoming widespread in our country.
This book explores the concept of "Mindfulness" from every angle. Unlike similar books, this one covers not only personal opinions but also the scientific basis of the concept. The narrative is informed by scientific research and theory. This way, you feel the reality, not just fluff.
The concept of "Mindfulness" is difficult to explain and understand. But I can say that the language used in this book appeals to everyone. The clear, concise, and understandable explanation of "Mindfulness" is noteworthy.
This isn't Zümra Atalay's first book on the concept of "Mindfulness." I've read her previous books. However, I believe this book perfectly combines scientific research with her own experiences, and principled views with the daily reality of life.
I recommend you to read it to focus on life…

Compassion: The Art of Living with Challenging Emotions and Situations
May 2019
Compassion requires awareness and sensitivity to the suffering that can sometimes be inevitable in human life, and a commitment to alleviating human suffering. Insensitivity to suffering is blindness to one of the fundamental virtues of being human.
Compassion is a virtue that can be learned and cultivated, encompassing elements such as awareness, sensitivity, empathy, generosity, and sharing. It encompasses not only compassion directed toward others but also self-compassion directed toward oneself.
In this book, dear Zümra Atalay has presented compassion, a value that is increasingly forgotten despite being an essential part of being human, in its various dimensions, using simple language that the reader can easily follow. Incorporating both scientific knowledge and personal experiences, she shares ways to reintegrate compassion into our lives. I believe her book will be a significant contribution to readers and congratulate her on this meticulously crafted work.

It helps us discover, step by step, how to reverse our habits in life and cultivate compassion in both directions: outward toward others, and inward toward ourselves for refreshment and renewal." – Mark Williams, Professor of Clinical Psychology, University of Oxford

A Call for a Cool Head and a Warm Heart Compassion, Kindness, Focus and Calm...
There are times when we feel like our bodies are in one place while our minds are somewhere else. For example, while we're listening to a lecture in class, our minds might be focused on the beautiful outdoors or an event we're attending, even though our bodies are in the classroom.
Don't worry, we can learn to come to where our bodies are, which is the present moment. And whenever our attention wanders, we can gently bring it back.
This book will help you at school, at home, and with your friends. You can read the explanations inside with the guidance of your parents or teachers, or on your own. You can access the audio recordings within the book to meditate, listen to stories, and practice exercises to develop mindfulness skills.
