About Us
Mindfulness Institute was founded in 2014 by Prof. Dr. Zümra Atalay. Her main understanding is to teach MBSR, MBCT and other Mindfulness-based interventions and to perform them in line with the principles of the EAMBA (European Association of Mindfulness Based Approaches) Ethics Committee, of which she is also a member.
These ethical principles are;
Transparency, respect for the integrity of the programme, continuous learning and practice, acceptance of limitations, responsibility for the relationship with the participants, respect for other trainers interested in the subject, ideological (ideological) neutrality.

She has worked as a lecturer in the Department of Psychological Counselling and Guidance for many years. Her main field of study; Mindfulness, Mindfulness Based Therapies, Compassion and Compassion Based Therapies. MBSR, MBCT, MBCL is a Trainer Trainer. Founding Member and President of MINDED (Mindfulness Trainers Association of Turkey); co-founder of Mindoor Mindfulness App, a Mindfulness Based Mobile Application. See for detailed CV.

Begüm Bayram İşleyici
General Coordinator
She graduated from MEF University, Department of Psychological Counselling and Guidance. During her master's degree in Psychological Counselling and Guidance at Yıldız Technical University, she researched the effects of mindfulness on perfectionism. Since 2019, she has been actively working at the institute.

Burak İşleyici
Social Media and Content Coordinator
After graduating from MEF University Department of Psychological Counselling and Guidance, he continued his master's degree in Psychological Counselling and Guidance at MEF University. Since 2020, he has been working as a psychological counsellor at TED Atakent College and since 2019, he has been producing content and managing social media accounts at the institute.

Hatice Bayrakdar
Professional Simultaneous Translator
Hatice Bayraktar, who has been in the profession for many years, has been supporting the trainings, seminars and instructor trainings organised by Mindfulness Institute with foreign teachers since 2018. She is an expert in consecutive and simultaneous interpreting and has a good command of mindfulness literature and language.

Günter Hudasch
MBSR Eğitici Eğitmeni
He started working with MBSR in 2000 and received his own train-the-trainer qualification from IMA (Institute for Mindfulness-Based Approaches). Günter Hudasch has been a trainer for many MBSR programmes. He organises mindful leadership programmes and mindfulness trainings for companies. He is a mindfulness trainer at the Max Planck Institute for Social Neuroscience in Leipzig, Germany. He has also been the chairman of the MBSR-MBCT Trainers Association in Germany since it was founded in 2005. For many years he was vice-president of EAMBA (European Association of Mindfulness Based Approaches).

Dr. Özlem Sürücü
Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist
Dr. Özlem Sürücü, Child and adolescent psychiatrist, psychotherapist. In parallel with the training she has received for many years, she applies cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), mentalisation and mindfulness-based therapies in her therapy work with children, adolescents and their families. In addition to individual sessions, she organises Awareness and Compassion Based Parenting Trainings for families. She is the author of ‘Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder Parent Training Handbook’. She participated in the Mindfulness for Children training programme developed by Eline Snel and AMT Mindfulness for Adolescents training programmes. She participated in the Mindfulness Institute MBSR Trainer programme. She gives ACT Programme Training for Experts Working with Children and Adolescents together with Prof. Dr. Runa İdil Uslu at Mindfulness Institute.

Dr. Berk Murat Ergün
Psychiatrist
Dr. Berk Murat Ergün completed his medical and psychiatry speciality education at Gülhane Military Medical Faculty. Dr. Ergün did his doctoral thesis on ‘the effectiveness of cognitive behavioural therapy in obsessive compulsive disorder’. She has been working as a trainer and supervisor in the association of cognitive-behavioural therapies and sexual education and research associations (CETAD). She works as a freelance physician in the field of adult psychiatry in Istanbul. Her focal areas of interest in clinical psychiatry are anxiety disorders, adult attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and relationship problems.

Petra Meibert

Petra Meibert is a psychologist and psychotherapist, MBSR/MBCT Trainer-Trainer, supervisor and co-founder of the Mindfulness Centre in Ruhr, Germany. Petra Meibert is certified by the University of Massachusetts Mindfulness Centre and trained in MBCT by Mark Williams and FerrisUrbanowski.

Prof. Dr. Selçuk Aslan
Psychiatrist, Therapist
He is a Professor of Psychiatry and a trainer and supervisor in the field of Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy. Since 2000, he has carried out his academic studies at Gazi University, Department of Psychiatry. He provides treatment and counselling services in his private clinic. She provides theoretical and practical training in the Association of Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapies (BDPD). She is practising CBT, mindfulness and compassion-orientated therapy for depression, anxiety disorders, insomnia problems.

Prof. Dr. Gökçe Bulgan
SIY Instructor
Prof. Dr. Gökçe Bulgan is a faculty member at Istanbul Rumeli University, Department of Psychology (English). For more than 20 years, she has been providing psychological counselling and training services to many individuals in Turkey and the United States. She received her bachelor's and master's degrees in Guidance and Psychological Counselling from Boğaziçi University and her doctoral degree in Counselling Psychology from Purdue University, approved by the American Psychological Association. She is an internationally certified trainer of San Francisco, USA based SIY Global's Search Inside Yourself, mindfulness-based emotional intelligence and leadership skills development programme. She is the co-author of the book Happiness 2.0 published by Elma Publishing House.

Jonathan Weber
Mindful Yoga Instructor
E-RYA 500 is a certified Mindful Hatha Yoga and MBSR/MBCT (Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction/Cognitive Therapy) instructor. For over 30 years he has been practising yoga, meditation and teaching in Norway for 15 years. Jonathan has been a leading trainer in the integration of mindfulness with yoga. He introduced Mindful Yoga to Oslo in 2015 and established the first Mindful Yoga Training Centre through Oslo Yoga studio in 2018. As a co-therapist and programme developer with Maja Thune in the first Therapeutic Yoga Teacher Training in Norway, she used mindfulness and yoga as therapeutic tools in psychiatry. With a background in traditional Buddhist yoga practice, Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche has studied with many respected Buddhist and yoga teachers, including Lama Surya Das, Allan Wallace, Ani la Tsering Chodron and Ram Dass. And he has been organising leading international retreats, trainings, workshops for over a decade.

Lot Heijke

Present Mind founder, trainer and supervisor. She received her Mindfulness Trainer Certification from the Centre for Mindfulness (CEM) at the University of Massachusetts. She is a meditation and yoga instructor. He is on the board of the Mindfulness Association of the Netherlands (VMBN) and is one of the founders of EAMBA (European Association of Mindfulness Based Approaches) and was its president for many years.

Prof. Dr. Runa İdil Uslu
Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist
Prof. Dr. Runa İdil Uslu, child and adolescent psychiatrist, psychotherapist. After graduating from Ankara University Faculty of Medicine in 1985, she did compulsory service in the health centre of Yıldızeli district of Sivas in 1985 - 1986. After completing her speciality training in Psychiatry in 1987-1992 and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry in 1992-1996 at Ankara University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry, she was awarded the title of Associate Professor in 1998 and Professor in 2008. In July 2010, he retired from Ankara University Faculty of Medicine, where he worked for a total of 24 years, 13 years as a faculty member. She still continues her clinical work as a freelance physician. She gives Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) Training for Experts Working with Children and Adolescents together with Dr Özlem Sürücü at Mindfulness Institute.

Erik van den Brink
MBCL Instructor
After completing her psychiatry specialisation and studies in the UK, she worked in the field of mental health in the Netherlands for many years. She pioneered the application of mindfulness interventions especially in the field of mental health in the Netherlands. She is a trainer and practitioner of MBCT, MBSR, ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), CFT (Compassion Focused Therapy), MBC (Self-Compassionate Mindfulness), Interpersonal Mindfulness and Mindfulness Based Supervision. Together with Frits Koster she developed the Mindfulness Based Compassionate Living (MBCL) programme.
